A dehumidifier is an electrical appliance that extracts water from air that passes through the unit which reduces and maintains the level of humidity in the air to eliminate musty odor and to prevent the growth of mildew and molds. Two main types of dehumidifiers exist, condensate dehumidifiers which remove water as condensate from the air using a refrigerator and desiccant dehumidifiers which absorb moisture using hydrophilic materials such as silica. Electric refrigeration dehumidifiers being the most common type are typically a "portable" dehumidifier which can be moved around on built-in caster wheels.
There are three main factors that play a role in humidity, temperature, watering, and ventilation which makes maintaining proper humidity levels essential for maintaining optimal air quality in your grow room, but efficiently monitoring and managing these levels can be challenging.
